Thanks A Latte

Good Morning Blog Land!

Today's post will be my first post as a Designer for "Through The Craft Room Door".  I am super excited to be a part of this team. It's a great place to get inspiration, join challenges, chat about crafty topics and meet new crafty people. The newest edition of TTCRD magazine has just been published. There is a video and link on my side bar. You should check it out!! This week's challenge is ANYTHING GOES, as always.

My card for this weeks challenge was an experiment. Lol   I saw a card while browsing around Pinterest that had this amazing 3D "frame". I said, "Hey, I can do that". Then I said, "Okay, how are you gonna do that?"
First of all, I started with one of my Bestest crafty friend's digis! This lovely coffee cup was drawn by Kim Hecker of Oak Pond Creations. Isn't it adorable? They say ask and you shall receive...and I did.
Thanks Kim, you're the best!!

It was quite simple after the first attempt. ( I only wasted one sheet of paper...HeeHee ) I used my Spellbinders Classic Square dies. I laid the largest one in the center of a 5 X 5 piece of card stock and traced around the edge with my embossing tool. Then I centered the next size smaller in the center of that and embossed around the edge of that one as well. You should have two squares embossed. Cut diagonally from corner to corner of the largest square and fold along the embossed lines to make the frame stand up. EASY PEASY!

It makes such a nice clean corner and frames your card so well.

Then you just decorate and layer as desired.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial. I will definitely be doing this one again.

You're the Bee's Knees

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #163 - Monochromatic

Hello and Happy Tuesday Blog Land!
It's time to put your craftiness to the test in the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge. Our VERY Sassy Ms. Dawn from Dawn a New Day is leading the way this week with a Monochromatic theme. I am a little out of my element on this one so be sure to check out all the other Sassy Girl's creations on the challenge page for some more inspiration. The only thing I knew going into this challenge was that I just HAD to use my new "Honeycomb" embossing folder. My friend Mel is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and she left me a little package on my porch last week and I have been dying to use it. What do ya think Mel?
Any who...this is the end result of my latest crafty expense.

Thanks to you all who joined us in last week's sketch challenge. What a fabulous group of entries. We sure hope to see you again this week. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Internet and as always...
Happy Crafting Y'all!!

All You Need is Love

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #160 - A Sketch

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday to you! Here we are at the beginning of April already.
It's time to share another fabulous Sassy Cheryl's Challenge with you. Our resident Prisma coloring perfectionist, Judy has put together an awesome sketch for us. I always enjoy sketches. It takes away the hard decisions and lets you focus on the fun stuff....COLORING!!!
I have had this sweet image in my "Sassy Folder" for a while and decided to color her up since it was Easter on Sunday. She isn't in Cheryl's new store but her sweet friend Sally can be found there with her bunny in an image called "Bunny Gets a Home". Just click HERE

Here is Judy's fabulous sketch!!

Hope you hop right into this week's challenge with us.
Happy crafting y'all!!!

The Wicked Witch of the West

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #138 - Trick-or-Treat

Happy Spooktacular Tuesday!! Only a week to go until Halloween and our very own Sassy Ann has chosen the theme "Trick-or-Treat" for the challenge here at Sassy Cheryl's
Next to Christmas, Halloween has to be my favorite Holiday for making cards. I think it must be the colors. I just love the way black, orange and purple look together. I do love Halloween as a Holiday; but not the scary, pee your pants part. I like the "cutesy", little kids in adorable costumes part. If you are a teenager out collecting candy without a costume..."GO HOME"!! You will not receive any candy from this old witch. Lol
I chose Charlie, The Wicked Witch of the West  for my card this week.
Isn't she just the cutest little witch you've ever seen? (and her little kitty too, I'm gonna call him Jinx - Lol)
My card got a little busier than usual, but I just couldn't stop adding "stuff". Hope you enjoy it.

I can't wait to see your creations this week, so get out your spooktacular crafting accessories and join in for some Frightfully Sassy Fun!

A "Thank You" card...

Hello Blog Land! As you can see, I had a day off today to celebrate The 4th of July. What better way to celebrate than to spend a little time in my "Happy Place".  I wanted to make a Thank You card for someone who did a really nice thing for my Daughter and I. Savannah had a broken glass on one of her VW's side mirrors and I called an old business colleague to have it replaced. What a sweetie...he did it for free!!! I know it wasn't a fortune but it REALLY gives me a little faith in mankind when people do nice things for others. I couldn't let that go by without saying "thanks". So..."Thanks Tim"!

I will be making another one with a slightly different theme when I get a chance. Don't you love it when you are working on one card and get an idea for another one?!?
I pulled out one of my OLD wood mounted stamps for this one. I know, I can hear the gasps! This poor thing has been collecting dust for so long and I actually think this is the very first time I have used it. The stamp is a "Just Married" stamp, but I did a little paper piecing and made a new license plate.

Here's another Flip-Flop Creations sentiment freebie for you...ENJOY!

Stamp: Stampabilities - Just Married Car
Sentiment: Flip-Flop Creations
Paper: Recollections - Red/White polka dots, My Minds Eye - Meadow Lark 6X6 pad
Accessories: Spellbinders - Standard Circles & Labels Twenty-Two, EK Success - 1 1/2" circle punch & 2" scalloped circle punch, MS- Scalloped border punch, Textured Trios - black/white gingham ribbon

Do not adjust your computer screen...

Happy Thursday morning!
Are you feeling a wee bit colder since you got here? Lol
I have promised myself to get a head start on my Christmas cards for 2012, so if you stop by and see one from time to time don't be alarmed. I haven't lost my mind... I am just trying to make sure that doesn't happen when Christmas sneaks up on me and I haven't gotten my cards finished.

This little cutie is a Just Inklined image called Letter to Santa (Boy). Isn't he adorable?
There is also a Letter to Santa (Girl) who is just as cute.

I made the strand of lights with the Stampin' Up Owl punch. I saw a little tutorial last year that showed tons of things you can make from just that one punch. HERE is a link to Joanne's blog post about it. Hope you get some inspiration too.

One more Christmas card...

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #97 - Snow & a Sketch

I still can't believe it's the beginning of another year! Where does the time go? I have been fighting with my mojo for a couple months. I think it is just the craziness of the holidays. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon. I'm not saying that my normal is "normal". Lol
I had to make a few more Christmas cards just because I really do enjoy them. Hey, I'm getting a jump on next Christmas! I was a REALLY bad girl and did not send cards this year. I know, I can hear the gasps! I had full intentions of sending New Years cards too, but let's not go there either. I'm gonna blame it on the whole mojo thing. Anyway....blah, blah, blah. I'm rambling. On to today's reason for this post!

This week at Sassy Cheryl's Dawn is our hostess with the mostest and she has given us a great sketch to work with. All you have to do is follow this sketch and add a little snow. Easy peasy, right?
I used Cheryl's "Flat Bottom Snowy" for my image and colored him with Copic markers. Isn't he adorable??? I just love Cheryl's snowmen, they are THE BEST. You can find all of those frosty cuties HERE

Sure hope to see your beautiful creations in the challenge this week. Head on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog and get some inspiration from the DT. I am sure they have some yummy treats for you.
Happy Crafting Y'all!!

Giddy-Up and Go!

It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another FANTASTIC
Just Inklined Blog Hop!!!
You should have arrived here from our talented Joyce's Blog.
Heidy is our hostess and she wants us to make something that can be given as a gift FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!! I stressed the Christmas part because you will soon see that I totally over looked that part of the theme. I am afraid I will be getting a "needs improvement" on following directions. I know my kids will laugh when they read this because I always stress this point on test days. "Always read the directions thoroughly".
My gift will be given to a poor soul who is feeling poorly on Christmas. Lol

I love the Holidays and cooler weather, but that always means one thing.....
The cold and flu season is upon us and there are a lot of sickies out there. Believe me, we have had our share in my house. I made this little gift bag to put hot tea bags, cough drops, peppermints, tissues, medicine or anything really to help someone feel better when they are feeling a little under the weather. They are so handy to have around for loved ones.

The image I used is called Gee Up Neddy. You can find it in the NEW SHOP at Just Inklined . HERE
From here you are going to want to head on over to our fearless leader Jak's blog. I am sure she has something spectacular to share with you. I am also sure that it will also be Christmas themed. She is very good at following directions.
Thanks so much for joining us. Hope you go away with a little inspiration. Happy Crafting!!!

The order of the hop this month is:

The very Crafty Caroline has picked the theme this week at Totally Papercrafts and she wants us to use stitching on our creations. ( real or faux ) My Mom gave me a sewing machine and we are working on getting everything "right" so this may be the last time I have to hand stitch a card!!! WooHoo! It sure would be nice to zip right around instead of slowly making my way. Lol

Cappuccino Anyone?

Another Tuesday is upon us. That means it's time for another Sassy Cheryl challenge!! Yay!!!!
I was just glad to see Monday come and go, what a day!!
Crafty Jackie is the hostess with the mostest this week and she must be hungry because she wants us to use a Sassy Cheryl image with food .

I never realized how many of Cheryl's images had food in them...Lol. You all know I am a coffee junkie so I had to use this happy go lucky Cappuccino Snowman. Doesn't he just look like he has had his double shot espresso this morning? Looks to me like he has a little extra pep in his step.
Pick out your favorite Sassy image with food/drink in it and join in the challenge. You could win a gift card to the Sassy Cheryl digi shop!! Good luck and Happy Crafting Y'all!!

JAVA

Thursday has rolled around once again and that means it's time for another Totally Papercrafts Challenge. Caroline chose the theme "Food and Drink" for us this week so I decided to pay tribute to my favorite drink...COFFEE! (I just lost Marlene, didn't I?) A grande decaf caramel macchiato to be exact. Lol

This week we are sponsored by Mel Jen's Designs

Bee Mine...

Happy Tuesday all you Sassy people! It's time for another fun challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's. It's my turn to hostess again this week and I have chosen the theme..."What's Buggin' You?". Cheryl has the cutest images with bugs on them and I want you to show me your favorite. I know...I know, it's hard to pick just one. Narrow it down and do an "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe".

I went with her adorable Bee. I don't know how in the world he expects to catch a "Lady Bee" with NO honey!!! Maybe that's why he looks so perplexed. A couple of my "Sassy Sistahs" used this fold last week and I was busting to try it...and I loved it! You will probably be seeing this some more here on my little piece of blog land. I found this paper at one of our local scrapbook stores (Aw Shucks) and HAD to have it!! I need to go back and get some more before it's gone. (Honey, you DID NOT just read that, it's your imagination. )

I want to thank all the participants from last week and say that I am so sorry not to have gotten around to all your blogs. Your cards were BEAUTIFUL!! I was really impressed with all the different folds you shared. Hopefully I will be back up and running so I can comment on your entries this week. Happy Crafting Y'all!!

(sorry if the pic is bad, still no computer)

Happy Friday Bloggy friends! It's time for another Totally Papercrafts challenge!! This week Cheryl picked our theme..."Holidays". Since I have started blogging and have made some friends over seas, I have learned that "Holidays" can also be vacations! So...take it how you wish, just play along!! I have chosen Christmas as my Holiday for the challenge.

Back 2 School

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #75 - Not your usual fold

It is my turn to host the Sassy Cheryl Challenge this week and I want to see some different folds on your cards. I have been seeing some pretty neat folds out there in blog land and I wanted to get out of my square rut. Hey...it's comfortable for me. (Lol)

I just adore Cheryl's new school kids images. This one is called "First Day of School". I know I have said this before but these girls with the bob hair cut remind me so much of my Savannah when she was little. Now she will be starting college at the end of August!! ** sigh **

I chose a side step card for my fold. I like the way they display so pretty. I like to leave out the cards I receive so I can enjoy them. You will usually find them on my shelves, kitchen island, craft table, or any flat surface. (Lol) Feel free to send as many as you like.

I hope you can come join us in the challenge this week. Look forward to seeing your interesting folds...inspire us. Happy Crafting!!

We are welcoming a new member to the Sassy Cheryl's Design Team. Pat Frank of Cards2Cherish is joining us this week so go check out her blog HERE. She is super talented and we are so happy to have her on the team. Welcome Pat!!

Turning 6

It's time for me to share another amazing Just Inklined digital stamp with you all. I came across this cutie and had to have him! His name is James Brum and you can find him HERE. I have just the perfect little fella turning 6 to give this to. Boys cards always seem to be challenging for me, which surprises me because I was a Tomboy growing up. I guess age has made me all froo froo.
Thanks for stopping by...Happy Crafting!!

Walk in the Rain

Good Morning!! I came over here with my bagel and tea to browse through bloggy land this morning and ***GASPED*** when I saw my post!!! Where did the middle of my post go???? The blog fairy must have snatched it!! Anyway....I will try to replicate (hope you don't think my memory is that good - Lol )
This week at Sassy Cheryl's our very own Judy is the hostess and she wants to see some "paper ribbon". I was a little confused until she explained the obvious to me...DUH! Just take some paper and make it look like ribbon. I felt a little doofy...thanks for setting me straight Judy.
So get creative with your papers and lets see what kind of ribbons you come up with. Just make your card with a Sassy Cheryl image and give it to "Mr. Linky". Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Happy Birthday Cami and Ashley!!

Good Morning Sassy Friends! It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Fantastic challenge at Sassy Cheryl's. The Super Crafty Kim is our hostess this week and she wants us to make a tent card. I was sooooo excited when I saw this challenge because I had NEVER made a tent card before. So I went over to Split Coast Stampers, did some research and found this great tutorial by Beate HERE. Once I figured out what I was doing I had to pick my image. The first one I chose was Father's Day Snooze but when I saw what Dawn and Judy created with this same image...I changed my mind. Hahahaha! Needless to say, they were fabulous. I went back to my Sassy image folder in search of inspiration and saw Bunny, Bird Chit Chat. I knew I had found the one. I sure hope you can join in the challenge and the chance to win a free Sassy Cheryl image. We look forward to seeing you.

I made this card for my Sister In Law, Cami! Today is her Birthday and she shares it with her Daughter (my sweet niece) Ashley. How cool is that!?! I hope the two of you have a wonderful day! I love y'all!!

Frantic Graduation Girl

When someone asked me to do a graduation card for their Daughter I knew exactly which file I was going to. This "Frantic Graduate" digi from Sassy Cheryl's was "IT"!! She is so adorable and I didn't have a chance to use it last year. Look how happy she is...as every graduate should be. I am working on another graduation card for a special someone but I can't show it until her party on Saturday! Boy how the time does fly by. Very bitter-sweet.
