You're the Bee's Knees

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #163 - Monochromatic

Hello and Happy Tuesday Blog Land!
It's time to put your craftiness to the test in the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge. Our VERY Sassy Ms. Dawn from Dawn a New Day is leading the way this week with a Monochromatic theme. I am a little out of my element on this one so be sure to check out all the other Sassy Girl's creations on the challenge page for some more inspiration. The only thing I knew going into this challenge was that I just HAD to use my new "Honeycomb" embossing folder. My friend Mel is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and she left me a little package on my porch last week and I have been dying to use it. What do ya think Mel?
Any who...this is the end result of my latest crafty expense.

Thanks to you all who joined us in last week's sketch challenge. What a fabulous group of entries. We sure hope to see you again this week. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Internet and as always...
Happy Crafting Y'all!!

Happy Fall Y'all!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #134 - Inspiration Photo

Happy Tuesday again Blogland! Time for the weekly Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.
This week we  are using an inspirational picture for our challenge. Dawn has picked a super fun image for us to work with. I love the inspirational picture challenges because it is always so much fun to see how each person interprets the picture. I confess... I peeked at my Sassy DT-mates cards and they are fabulous!! You will see what I mean when you see them.

Here is Dawn's pick for the inspiration photo. It's a beauty, right? Just take a look at the picture and pull out whatever inspires you and get crafty with it. You know, kind of like "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It". Lol

I have been trying so hard to keep up with all of my bloggy friends and their awesome creations. I never seem to have enough time to sit and comment or chit-chat, but that doesn't mean I'm not stopping to take a look. Hopefully I will be able to get around and share the love more often. You all inspire me so mush every day. Don't you wish we could all just sit around and get crafty all the time?
What a GREAT turn out for last week's "To Die For" challenge...WOW! Such beautiful creations you all submitted. I can't wait to see what you all come up with from this weeks "Photo Inspiration" challenge.
Have a terrific week and Happy Crafting Y'all!!!

Little Boy Blue

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #131- Got The Blues?

Good Tuesday Morning to you all! I hope you are all well rested and ready for the day. I actually had TWO days off this weekend because of the Labor Day weekend here in The States. WooHoo!! I managed to get my card done with a few hours to spare. I had such a fun time working with Noah and Patches.
I chose this week's challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's and it is all about BLUE! I have to confess that I peeked in the folder and saw my Sassy Sister's cards already and you are in for a treat!! Our Sassy boss lady has been on one heck of a creative streak lately and has really given us some amazing images to play with. Hop on over and check them out HERE

I made this card for my Nephew Jonathan (aka: Finn). He had knee surgery last week and is doing well but still has a way to go in his recovery. I know it's going to be soooo hard for him not to be "on the go".  He is always so full of energy and is ALL BOY! I love you Finny and hope you have a speedy recovery. Sending you big bear (((( hugs)))).

Thanks so much to all of you who played in last week's Back 2 School challenge. We sure hope to see you all again this week. Get those BLUES out and get crafty!!!

Under My Umbrella

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #124 - Fancy Borders

Happy Tuesday morning! It's time for another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's. This week our
theme is brought to you by.....our sweet and talented cutie Judy.
She wants to see some Fancy Borders on our creations.
Time to pull out those punches, spellbinders and die cuts and GET FANCY!!
I chose Cheryl's cutie pie Charlie and her green umbrella. I paper pieced  the umbrella to match my DP and colored her hair red to match a certain little red head I know.
I just love Charlie's unruly curls, don't you? She is just too cute!!

Thanks to all of you who played along in last week's challenge. There sure was some sweet eye candy!
Hope to see you again this week. Happy crafting y'all!!!

You are My Sunshine

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #102 - No designer papers

Happy Valentine's Day my blog land friends! I'm sending out lots of love to you today!
It's time for another challenge at Sassy Cheryl's and Cathy is our hostess with the mostest. She has asked us NOT to use ANY designer paper!!! *** Gasp! *** This was a particularly HARD challenge for me. You see, I have a paper problem!! I see pretty papers and I just have to have them. I could probably make cards for a few years and not run out. I really was last minute making this one. The idea didn't hit me until Saturday when I was visiting my Hubby at work. He was helping a customer so I was wandering around the store being nosy and curious. I saw a big wall with lots of pretty colors and it just sucked me in. It was almost like the paper racks at the craft store!! Lol  I started picking up the sample cards they have and that's when it hit me. So, here ya go! My NO designer paper card. The paint sample doesn't count, right????

Cheryl has decided to change the weekly prize from a $5 gift certificate to 2 free images!!!
I hope you decide to play in this weeks challenge with us.
Thanks to all last weeks participants, your cards were all so lovely.
Happy Crafting Y'all!!

Deck The Halls

This week at Sassy Cheryl's Judy is our hostess with the mostest again. She is asking us to use "White on White" for our challenge creations. What? Of course you can color your image!! Lol
This type of card is always tough for me. I see all you fellow crafters doing such a beautiful job with them and you inspire me. So, get out all your white papers and supplies and inspire me some more!! I know all the other Sassy girls have some beauties and you can check them all out HERE. (I peeked...HeeHee) Hope to see you in the challenge this week.

I want to send out a quick apology to my bloggy friends. I have been tied up a lot with work and family lately and haven't been able to hop around to see you all like I would like to. It's a shame that we all can't have the time to do ALL the things we love. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon, I hate to think about all the stuff I'm missing. **pouting**

Friend for Dinner...

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #89 - Embossing

Welcome to another Sassy Cheryl's Challenge!! Our very Sassy & Super Talented Peggy is our hostess with the mostest and she wants us to emboss on our projects. (wet or dry, your choice)
I chose to dry emboss with one of my Argyle Cuttlebug folder. I couldn't believe how well it went with the background DP. I hope I haven't offended anyone with my sentiment. Lol That was my Daughter Savannah's brain storm. So, all you animal lovers...sorry. I do love my Thanksgiving turkey!!! Yummy!! I am getting hungry just thinking about it. I am the only one in my house who really likes turkey & stuffing so I only get it when Mommy makes it, and boy is it a treat!!

EXCITING NEWS!!!
For the remainder of November's challenges (8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th)
we'll be checking out all of the entries and selecting one lucky person
who will be our guest designer for the month of December.

Get your BEST crafting ideas going and show us what you've got!!

Little Pink Houses for You and Me

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #85 - Pink (with a die cut)

This week at Sassy Cheryl's we are still going all out with PINK for breast cancer awareness month. In addition this week, we want you to use a die cut.
I just Loooove Cheryl's bird houses!!! As I was wandering around Hobby Lobby with my friend Linda I found this adorable little die cut sign and birdie embossing folder. I was inspired!!! I was picturing this Country Birdhouse digi and singing "Little Pink Houses" by John Mellencamp . I think he has dropped the "Cougar", since he put out this song, but that's what I still call him. I am a child of the 80's!!! *sigh* Thought I would share the video with you......

Remember, you no longer have to use a Sassy Cheryl's image to play along. BUT...if you do, you will have twice the chance to win that Sassy Cheryl's gift certificate!! So, come play along. Just remember to "Think Pink".

I'm here to share another card I made using one of Mabelle's adorable images from Whimsy and Stars. This cutie is called Balloon Girl and you can find her HERE. I know I always seem to need Birthday cards and this image comes in soooo handy. I colored her with my Copics and went back and high lighted and shaded with my Prisma pencils. I am trying to use my pencils more so they don't feel so neglected and so I can get better at using them. Practice, practice, practice. Lol (At least that's what I tell the Hubby)
I bought a Derwent battery powered sharpener the other day and I love the way it sharpens my pencils. The tip is sharp but it doesn't eat up a lot of the pencil leaving the inside exposed and weak. I highly recommend it. It was $20.00 but I used my 50% off coupon so that helped a bit.

Only 2 more days left to get in on my Blog Candy!!!
Just click the link on my side bar to take you to the post.
Good Luck and Happy Crafting!

Turning 6

It's time for me to share another amazing Just Inklined digital stamp with you all. I came across this cutie and had to have him! His name is James Brum and you can find him HERE. I have just the perfect little fella turning 6 to give this to. Boys cards always seem to be challenging for me, which surprises me because I was a Tomboy growing up. I guess age has made me all froo froo.
Thanks for stopping by...Happy Crafting!!

Write this one in the books...You Dit It!!

This week at Sassy Cheryl's the ever so talented Judy is the hostess and she wants to see some scallops!! I thought I would do as I'm told and pulled out one of the few scallop punches I have. I used it to border my ribbon on this card.
This is the card I made for my Daughter Savannah's graduation. This little Sassy gal looks so much like her when she was that age, I couldn't pass her up. Her favorite color is yellow so I picked out this yellow card stock as my backdrop. The inside has Sassy Cheryl's "Little Girl Graduate". Kind of a before and after thing. Lol
So, pull out your scalloped punches, scissors or die cuts and join in on the fun. There is a Gift Certificate to Sassy Cheryl's shop up for grabs. Good luck and happy crafting!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #69 - Gift Card Holder for Baby

Good morning all you crafters! Get your cup of coffee and settle in. It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another challenge at Sassy Cheryl's!! Our hostess with the mostest this week is Kim and she wants us to make a gift card holder for a baby! It has been a while since I made a baby card so this was a nice change of pace. I have loved this "Rub A Dub Dub" digi for quite a while and was so glad to finally get the chance to use it. Isn't it the sweetest? Cheryl also has several brand new baby images in her shop this week and they are ADORABLE!!! Pick out your favorite and join in the challenge for a chance to win a $5.00 gift certificate. I don't know anyone having twins so I guess this card is going in "The Box" waiting for that special recipient.

Surfs Up Dude!

How adorable is this digi from Just Inklined!?! This is Dick Van Duck Surfing and you can find him HERE. He is perfect for a fun Summer card!! I didn't make this one with anyone in mind so it's going in "The Box", I just really wanted to color him. (HeeHee) Think I may do it again with a more antiqued red and tan color scheme. What do you think?

Snow in May?!?

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #22 - Layers

This week at Anita Be Stampin we want to see "Layers" so pile it on ladies!!

My card this week was inspired by my Sister(kinda looks like her). She lives in Colorado and recently had SNOW!!! WHAT!?!? At least I have a hop on my Christmas cards. I love this digi! She is one of Anita's and her name is Aspen and you can find her HERE. Such a fun, wintery image. Hope you can join us in the challenge!

Daisy Head Maisy

I missed the Sassy Cheryl's' Challenge by a couple hours but I still wanted to post my card. Tomorrow will be the start of a brand new Color Me Challenge so be sure to check it out. Not only does Cheryl showcase new images but she has them in her store at a discounted price during the challenge. Can't beat that huh?
This little cutie reminded me of a nick name my Dad had for my daughter Savannah. When she was a toddler she didn't have much hair so the little hair she had was always in a pony tail on the top of her head like a fountain. She got the nick names "Daisy Head Maisy" and "Top Knot". Funny how stuff like that sticks with you.

Have a Par-fect Birthday

This week at Sassy Cheryl's I get to be the hostess!! Yipee!! I have chosen the theme "The Great Outdoors". The weather is getting warmer and we will all be spending a lot more time outside. (and it's about time!) I have to say it was nice to finally get a touch of pink on my shoulders.

I made this card for my Brother In Law, Sam. He is an AVID golfer. He retired from the Army last year and is now a helicopter pilot in Colorado. When we went for a visit last summer he took us up and the view of the mountains was AMAZING! For me, they were beautiful from the ground because I had never seen them in person but the view from the heli was sooooooo much better. After I got over the initial "OH CRAP" feeling I really enjoyed it. Sam is a great guy and I am really glad my Sister brought him into our crazy family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM, we love you!

I hope you all will come by and play along with us this week. We all really enjoy seeing your creations. So, pick out your favorite "Outdoor" Sassy image and get crafty!

Under the Weather

This little darling is a new Spring image from Sassy Cheryl's called "April Umbrella". Tracy is our hostess this week and she wants us to use something new on our project. I definitely don't need an excuse to buy something new but this was a free ticket to go to the craft store!
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

I have wanted to use this image since Cheryl released it but I was waiting for that perfect paper to compliment it. By luck, I found a pack of American Crafts ON SALE with this rain drop paper in it. Then I wandered over to the Prisma pencils and bought some Spring colors I didn't have. The yellow was perfect for her rain coat! Some days are just good days at the craft store so I pushed my luck and kept looking. I meandered over to the embossing folders and found a Sizzix paisley folder and a paisley is shaped like a rain drop, so I HAD to get that too. All I needed was ribbon and I actually had that at home so my trip was over. Bummer huh?

I hope you all will stop by and participate in the challenge this week. It's a good excuse to go out and buy something new. (if you need an excuse)

Happy Spring!

Really...15??? Wow!
This adorable little image is one of Sassy Cheryl's newest for Spring! He is called "Dancing Easter Egg Bunny". He is one of the images in this week's Color Me Challenge. I had a card in mind and it just didn't turn out the way I planned. Crap!! I usually don't post cards that I am not happy with but I am posting this because I wanted to play in the challenge this week and I didn't have time for a re-do. Something was missing and I just couldn't figure out what it was. I was having crafter's block!! OH NO!!! So, if you can think of what my brain wouldn't let me please feel free to give suggestions.

My Boy Di-Bo-saur

I am such a sucker when it comes to anything Dinosaur! They remind me of Jackson when he was younger. He loved everything dinosaur. When I saw this cutie over at Teddy Bo & Co I had to have him. I am entering this card in their Sketch challenge. He was such fun to color.

Say no to Crack...

and yes to cake!!!

I have my Father and my Father In Law both celebrating a Birthday! My Daddy's Birthday was yesterday but I can't show you his card yet. He checks my blog and I don't want him to see it before we have his party. My Sister and her family are coming in from Colorado and we are waiting until she gets here to celebrate. You can see that card next week.
This week I am showing you the card I made for my Father In Law. We all lovingly call him "Pop". He is always fixing things and cant stand to be doing "nothing". When I saw this digi from Just Inklined I knew it was perfect for him. I have never seen him in this predicament but my hubby swears he has. Lol!
Happy Birthday Pop, we love you!!!
