Miss You!

Tracy is our hostess with the mostest for this week's Sassy Cheryl's challenge. She has given us a beautiful sketch to work with. It was a fun sketch, I think you will enjoy it too. I hope you all will get a chance to join in on the challenge this week. Cheryl has some fabulous new images.

Tracy's fabulous sketch!

By the time this posts my Sister will be gone back to Colorado with her family so I made this card with them in mind. We had such a great visit and it is always so sad to see them leave. Our Families always have such a great time when we get together, I just wish we lived closer.

I'm so bummed!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

My Daddy's Birthday was March 18th. I made this card for him but I couldn't post it because we had his Birthday party late. My Sister and her family came in from Colorado Friday and we wanted to wait until they got here to celebrate. We had a big BBQ at my house. It was great to have all of us in one place again. It has been quite a while. He got to celebrate with his first Great Grand Isabella. ( adorable little 5 mo. old stinker! )

Show Me Thursday

Gosh, can you believe it is Thursday again already?!? Well, I'm glad because today is my Friday!! WooHoo!! My Sister and her family will be here in the morning and I get to hang out with them until Thursday. I haven't seen them since our summer trip to Colorado.I may be M.I.A. until she leaves but I will definitely get around to all of my blogger buddies when I return.
My desk has some more images I have colored this week. My friend Cindy got me that box to the left and it is perfect for holding uncolored images. I also found some Recollections flowers, lace and ribbon 40% off at Michael's this week when Linda and I took our weekly trip at lunch. I should have gotten more.
Come on...you know you want to play along. It's okay to snoop! Really!!

Under the Weather

This little darling is a new Spring image from Sassy Cheryl's called "April Umbrella". Tracy is our hostess this week and she wants us to use something new on our project. I definitely don't need an excuse to buy something new but this was a free ticket to go to the craft store!
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

I have wanted to use this image since Cheryl released it but I was waiting for that perfect paper to compliment it. By luck, I found a pack of American Crafts ON SALE with this rain drop paper in it. Then I wandered over to the Prisma pencils and bought some Spring colors I didn't have. The yellow was perfect for her rain coat! Some days are just good days at the craft store so I pushed my luck and kept looking. I meandered over to the embossing folders and found a Sizzix paisley folder and a paisley is shaped like a rain drop, so I HAD to get that too. All I needed was ribbon and I actually had that at home so my trip was over. Bummer huh?

I hope you all will stop by and participate in the challenge this week. It's a good excuse to go out and buy something new. (if you need an excuse)

Happy Spring!

Really...15??? Wow!
This adorable little image is one of Sassy Cheryl's newest for Spring! He is called "Dancing Easter Egg Bunny". He is one of the images in this week's Color Me Challenge. I had a card in mind and it just didn't turn out the way I planned. Crap!! I usually don't post cards that I am not happy with but I am posting this because I wanted to play in the challenge this week and I didn't have time for a re-do. Something was missing and I just couldn't figure out what it was. I was having crafter's block!! OH NO!!! So, if you can think of what my brain wouldn't let me please feel free to give suggestions.

Say no to Crack...

and yes to cake!!!

I have my Father and my Father In Law both celebrating a Birthday! My Daddy's Birthday was yesterday but I can't show you his card yet. He checks my blog and I don't want him to see it before we have his party. My Sister and her family are coming in from Colorado and we are waiting until she gets here to celebrate. You can see that card next week.
This week I am showing you the card I made for my Father In Law. We all lovingly call him "Pop". He is always fixing things and cant stand to be doing "nothing". When I saw this digi from Just Inklined I knew it was perfect for him. I have never seen him in this predicament but my hubby swears he has. Lol!
Happy Birthday Pop, we love you!!!

Sometimes you just need a Friend

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #55 - Nature

It's Tuesday and that means it's time again for another Sassy Cheryl's Challenge. YAY!!! The very talented and recently another year older Tracy is the hostess and she has picked the theme "Nature". Hope you had a Fabulous Birthday Tracy!
I picked "Gentle Friend" as my image this week. I have loved this image since the first day I discovered Cheryl's artistic talent. It is so versatile and adorable. All these short haired "Sassy Girls" remind me of my Savannah when she was little. Long legs, knobby knees, bobbed hair cut and of course the sassy attitude and sweetness. I think that's why I am drawn to Cheryl's images. I haven't made this one for anyone in particular so I guess it goes into the stash. You can never have enough on hand.
I hope you all will come and play along in the Nature challenge this week. As always, there is a chance you may win a Sassy Cheryl image.

Go Blue!

Any University of Michigan fans out there?
I made this card for a customer of mine at work. The argyle paper and logo were both computer generated. Punched logo with 2 3/4" circle punch and punched blue card stock with 3" scalloped circle punch. Inked edges of paper with Tim Holtz "Weathered Wood" distress ink. Then I added a yellow gingham bow...she is a girl ya know, gotta have a bow! Ta-Da!

Refinished Stamp Cabinet

My hubby and I have refinished A LOT of furniture in our 20 years together but we have NEVER refinished a metal cabinet! Steve was on an on line auction and found an old Victorian style love seat for me to put in my craft room (pictures of that another day). It was an estate sale so there was a lot more stuff and this cabinet caught his eye. Being the awesome, loving husband he is he said, "Hey Hon, wouldn't this be a great cabinet to hold your stamps?". He was soooooo right! It has twenty 11x9 drawers just perfect for holding all of my wood stamps!! With a little soapy water, a few whacks with a hammer and some epoxy appliance paint it will be ready to load tomorrow (gotta let the paint cure). Now I just have to divide my stamps into twenty different themes. Oh gheeze...better get started!
