Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #142 - Food or Thanksgiving

Good Morning! I hope you all have made it through another Monday. They are always so "Monday",
why is that? Maybe it's so we enjoy the weekend more. Lol

It's time to join in some fun over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog. I got to pick the challenge again this week, yay! We are celebrating Thanksgiving here in The States on Thursday so I decided that a Thanksgiving theme would be fitting. Don't worry, if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving you can still play along. Just use either food or being thankful for your theme.

There is a group that I belong to called Inky Digits, some of you may have heard me mention it before. Well, it was my daughter Savannah's turn to come up with a project for this weeks meeting. She found these cute little haystacks that you can use for place settings. We sat down on Saturday and made a few so we could show all the other ladies in the group how to do it. They are soooo super easy and fun. All we did was take a 6" X 12" piece of paper, score it at 2" and 4" on the short side, score the long sides every 1/4" to the score lines you made on the short side and cut the 1/4" score lines. Then you roll up the paper and curl down the edges. Easy peasy!! Pretty cute huh? I made one with twine, acorns and punched leaves too but I just had to make one with my fave cutie pie digital fella. Noah and his Prize Winning Pumpkin were just perfect for this project. Kudos to Savannah for finding this one.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
(and happy crafting y'all!)

Sorry...I'm Late

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #141 - Belated Birthday

Good Morning Blogland peeps! It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's. I have the honor of choosing this week's theme and I decided on Belated Birthday. I know we all try to be on top of things and never forget a Birthday, but be honest, isn't there always one that sneaks by us?
That's what this week's challenge is all about.
I have to admit that I was flying by the seat of my pants on this one guys. My printer (to put it nicely) has bit the dust. These are NOT the words I used this weekend when I NEEDED it for a few things. I had a few cross words with it, hit it, swore at it, talked sweet to it and then paid my last respects. (insert trumpet playing Taps here)  My card feels naked without a sentiment and I just didn't have a rubber stamp that quite fit. I turned my crafty space upside down looking for ANYTHING I could use and had almost given up hope when I came across some very old rub on words. I cut those things apart like I was making a ransom note!! Thank goodness I am a pack rat. Lol
I picked Cheryl's image, Noah's Tire Swing for my card this week. Don't you just love that sweet face peeking out from behind his tire swing? Can't be mad at him, right? That's what I am hoping for anyway.

Here is the inside with some more creative ransom note style lettering.
That "L" was actually a cursive "f". Pretty good huh? lol
It's amazing the ideas that can come from desperation.

It was so great to see so many of you in our first week back to using ONLY Sassy Cheryl images.
Just goes to show you how much Cheryl's characters are adored.  We look forward to seeing you all again this week and invite even more of you to play along. The more the merrier!!

Its A Guy Thing

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #140 - Masculine

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! It's Election day here in The United States!! I won't go
on a long political rant but I will be exercising my right to vote tonight after I get off work and
I hope you all will be doing the same.

This weeks challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's is all about the fellas. Dawn is our Sassy hostess with the mostest and she wants to see some cards made just for guys or about guys.  I know I seen to get in a girly fru-fru rut sometimes and go to find a guy card in my stash and can't find one.  So, this is a perfect time to get one done and ready. I had the most fun coloring this cute little boy! This is Noah  is All Ears. Isn't he darling?!? He is one of my favorite Sassy Cheryl images at the moment. I say "at the moment" because my favorite always seems to change from week to week. Lol

Don't forget that starting this week you MUST USE A SASSY CHERYL'S IMAGE to enter the challenge!
We would love for you to join us and play along.

My Starbucks Addiction Finally Pays Off...

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Thursday #98

This is a little Halloween album I made out of coffee cup insulators. As most of you know, I am a
Starbucks-a-holic. I have a whole hat box full of these coffee cup insulators that i use for gift card holders every now and then. It was my turn to lead our "Inky Digits" group and I wanted to find a way to use some of them for class. I decided to make an album and since it was Halloween...what better theme right?

This is the front. I used my "Fancy Tag" Spellbinder and give it a hinged look.

I used the whole front part of an insulator and one flap to create a little inside tab/spacer.

I also used a whole insulator and hot glued the bottom to make a pocket and made a photo tab insert.

And here, another tab/spacer. Don't you just love my google eyed monster!!

This time I used the tab on the outside edge for a journal entry later.

Another whole insulator for a pocket.

This last thing I want to show you is sooooo cool!
I work at a car dealership as a Service Adviser and the technicians have these magnetic bowl thingies on their tool boxes. It keeps their screws and bolts from running away. I decided that I HAD to have one of these for my craft table. You can turn if upside down and shake it and nothing falls out!!!
