This weekend I came to the realization that I was just NOT meant to use a sewing machine!!! (hence, the label "Stupid Sewing Machine") I took Home Economics in Middle school and I remember sewing a pillow, but I think I may need a refresher course. I have 2 machines now, a Kennmore my Mom gave me and this little Singer. I can't thread the bobbin on one and can't keep the thread from breaking on the other. *sigh* I struggle with this little PURPLE MONSTER for a couple hours and came very close to throwing it in the trash. Instead, I put the little PURPLE MONSTER under my desk and hand sewed the rest of my card.
My space is a little messy right now so enjoy the giggles and head shaking while you can. I intend to clean it up AGAIN this week. Lol

Messy? What makes you say that! You're so funny! Love the 'tags I found at work'. Too hilarious.
Hope you get your purple monster working on your side soon. HEE HEE!
Thanks for sharing this week in the Sassy Cheryl's SMThursday fun, Jeni. You're a HOOT!
OK, tip 1: Throw the purple monster in the trash. Sorry. But these compact machines are pretty useless. You'll hate sewing and think you can't do it when you can!
Tip 2: sewing machine with broken thread. Tension is too tight. Loosen your stitches and the thread won't break. Also, check and make sure the thread is threaded properly, maybe its caught on something, causing it to break.
If you're in the market for a headache free machine go for a singer touch and sew. Its completely brain free, everything is touch of a button. LOVE IT!
And you were so excited when you texted me. I was waiting with anxious anticipation to see your sewn creation. So sorry Jen, here's a hug tucked in this message for you.
Do you want me to make you a Ho Ho Cake for consolation? LOL
You are so funny! You just need more practice, sewing is fun :)
Love ya, Pam.
Now - calm down - deep breath...I can sew - but for some reason not on card - hate it...so do fake sewing instead - hard to tell...made me laugh though - so thats good
Hugs hun

Lol hi hun
my ickle machine hates me i never use it now, seemed like a good idea at the time!! sue,x
LOL--I agree w/Sarah: real sewing is for the bird's or people who have more patience than me. :o)
At least it's the right color! I love purple! :)
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, too, for visiting my blog. :)
Thank you for not showing food. I would have had to come hurt you. I agree with the Dorcas with the Purple Monster, unless you just let it punch the holes(no thread) and then hand sew. I think the tags from work were a great find. They'll dress up quite nicely. You and I are in the same camp with the messes, but that's okay. We work better that way.
Yep, I bought a little "Mighty Mender" at a garage sale this summer. Big Mistake! Luckily, I only paid $10 for it. I still haul out my old faithful Brother sewing machine that I bought in college almost 25 years ago.
You might check the tension setting on the machine that's breaking thread. Good luck!
I had not sewn in along time either and just took on the moment and it just all came back to me...little by little...I worked on my mess the other day... the feeling was there and I thought I had better go with it or NOT...Thanks for the sharing...Tootsie
