Scout's Honor

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #117 - A Sketch

Good Morning Blog Land!
It's Tuesday AND challenge day over at Sassy Cheryl's.

Our hostess with the mostest is our own crafty Irish Lass...Jackie!!! She has put together a SUPER FUN sketch and I just loved following it. I used my "go to guy" Noah for this little boy's card. I just think he is the cutest! I picked up this paper a few months ago just to use with him. I even added a little moss from my own Oak tree to bring the great outdoors to the card.
Come play along with us and have some fun!! All you have to do is follow Jackie's sketch below.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy...right???
Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

I was playing with my sentiments again and thought I would share this one with you all. All you have to do is right click on the image and save it to your computer. If you use it, just tell everyone where you got it.

Magical Birthday

I'm here to share this card I made for a special "little person" in my life who shall remain nameless so they don't know this card is for them. We are Harry Potter fans in my Family and my kids and I read all the books when they were younger. We still enjoy the movies and were so sad when the last one came out. Now another young one in the Family has started reading the books too and I just LOVE to see the look on their face when they talk about them. This image by Just Inklined is SO appropriately named A Good Read.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #116 - Favorite Color Combo

Hi all you Sassy Cheryl fans! It's Tuesday, AKA challenge day!  Our Sassiest Sassy Sistah Pat is the hostess and she has asked us to use our favorite color combo. Me, I like RED... with ANY color!!!
For this card I chose to use RED with BROWN.  When I was picking my image for this week's challenge card I couldn't resist Avery and her big ole' cupcake!! Isn't she darling?
I had fun with my paper crimper replicating the folds on the cupcake wrapper. I bought it last weekend for a project I taught at our local card maker's club, Inky Digits. If you have a Facebook account you can check out the project HERE. If not, I should have it posted here in a couple days for Cheryl's Show Me Thursday post. It's a cute little treat holder.

Get in your crafty space and pick out your favorite color combo and join us for this week's
Remember...if you use a Sassy Cheryl's image you double your chances of winning !!!

Warning! Warning!

Good Morning Blog Land!
I have been trying to work on my selection of "boy" cards lately and came across this cute little fellow from Just Inklined and knew I had to color him. I wasn't sure if  I wanted to leave the cardboard boxes uncolored or try to make it look like he painted them. In the end I chose brown/tan because it matched my card base
and I think MOST little boys would probably go with the uncolored boxes too. Lol
You can find Robot Boy HERE in the Just Inklined shop.

Finest Lady I Know

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #115 - Don't Be Square

Hi there Sassy friends! It's challenge day over at Sassy Cheryl's and our resident crafty nerd Pat is telling us "Don't Be Square". Lol
That means your card can be any shape EXCEPT square. Easy peasy, right?
This is going to be a fun challenge, I hope you all will join us.

I made this card for my Mom for Mother's Day.We celebrated here in The States this past Sunday. The inside says, "Happy Mother's Day to the finest LADY I know".  If you look up the definition of Mother in the dictionary it says...
but a Mother is so much more!!!!
A Mother is she who can take the place of all others,
but whose place no one else can take. ~Cardinal Mermillod

So, Happy Mother's Day to all my crafty Mamas!!
I hope your day was fabulous.

I used this sweet little owl from Just Inklined called Professor Hoot. Isn't he beautiful? I had such a fun time coloring him. I almost colored him blue but changes my mind at the last minute, maybe next time. Lol

Cute as a Button!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #114 - Stitching
(real or faux)

Good Tuesday morning!
It's time for another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's!! The sweet and talented Judy is our hostess and she wants to see some stitching. It can be real, drawn, on your patterned paper or even in an image like this adorable Button Flowers Bag. This has been one of my favorites for a while. It goes great with so many types of cards. I chose to go a little pastel this week after I found this paper in my stack. I totally forgot I had it. It was like buying it all over again. Lol

Can't wait to see what you all come up with.
Good luck and Happy Crafting!!

My Favorite Flower

It's the first Monday of the month again and that means it's time for another
fabulous Just Inklined Blog Hop!!!
This month's hostess is the talented Toni and she has chosen the theme...
Single Layer Cards.
I have to admit I was a little scared when I saw the theme. You all know I like my "stuff" and "fluff". I decided to print whatever image I used on white card stock and go from there. I chose Tulip Jug mostly because it is my favorite flower and I just loved the jug. I had my image all colored and I "test stamped" my sentiment several times before I tried to put it on my card. Worked like a charm EVERY time until I went to stamp it on my card. UGH!! So, this is where the green polka dotted paper comes in. I covered up my boo boo and used one on my test stamped sentiments and popped it up. Sure hope it still qualifies. Lesson learned...stamp the sentiment BEFORE you color the image. LOL

You should have come here from Angela's(Aj) blog
If you get lost or would like to start at the beginning just go to Toni's blog and start there.
I'm sure the other Just Inklined girls have some beautiful cards to share.
The next stop on the hop is Ann Marie's blog
Hope you all enjoy the hop!!

Then my friend Kim from Oakpond Creations taught me how to save it as a jpeg image.

A Mother's Love

We all know Mother's day is right around the corner here in the States.....RIGHT???
Don't any of you forget your Mamas this year!! FYI, it's May 13th!! If you forget you will have to hear that whole story about how many hours she was in labor, the pain and agony of it and all the time she has given just for you over the years. So, don't be a dummy and PLAN AHEAD!!
I know my two lovely children have already planned a whole day of relaxation just for me!! Lol
Anyway, I made this card for my Daughter's boyfriend to give to his Mom.
See, I'm trying to keep him out of trouble too!!

The image I have used is called Petunias from Just Inklined
They have the most beautiful floral and garden images. Perfect for Mom for Mother's Day. (HINT...HINT)
